What Is Checked During ITP
The periodic technical inspection covers all major vehicle systems:
- Braking system (front, rear, handbrake)
- Steering and wheel alignment
- Lighting and signalling system
- Exhaust emissions (CO, HC, CO₂)
- Body structure and integrity
- Wheels, tyres and suspension
- Windows, mirrors and visibility
- Seatbelts and airbag indicators
- Electrical system and battery
- Vehicle identification (VIN, registration plates)
Required Documents
- Vehicle registration certificate (talon) (Original)
- Valid RCA (civil liability) insurance (Original or copy)
- Owner's ID card (Original or notarized power of attorney)
- Vehicle roadworthiness certificate (Original)
Inspection Frequency
First inspection At 3 years from first registration
3–6 years from manufacture Every 2 years
6–12 years from manufacture Every year
Over 12 years from manufacture Every 6 months
