The policy must also acknowledge and reflect that we are in a period of transition, and help support the process of moving from established practices to the new approaches which will better support our sustainability objectives in the medium and longer term. As with any development proposal, applicants are expected to engage with the local community and seek to generate support and address any concerns highlighted.
